Idea/Description: This project was inspired by world travel and the need for storage. As you can see from the "before" pictures, the poor planning of this space, made this an oldie and not goodie space. Soffits and walls compartamentalized this space making it feel small and cramped. The main problem however was the lack of storage. The tall linen closet enclosed by walls was a deceiving storage unit. As large as it seemed, because it was enclosed by walls, it had very little storage capabilities. In order to accomodate the ease of access to the tub, the vanity was without storage. By relocating the vanity to the opposite wall, tearing down the soffits, and linen close, we increased the visual space and allowed for more storage and a more practical use of space. The selection of materials was inspired by the warm tones often found in luxury hotels around the world. The rich cherry colored cabinets from Home Paradise, paired with the natural beauty of Daino Reale Stone top from Italy made this space warm and inviting. The Porcelain tile, Crown molding, Restoration Hardware and Kohler fixtures, topped off with Schonbek Swarovski crystal sconces make way for a luxurious "at home" feeling of "away from home".
